Youth Investment Fund and a new dentist

Last week in Gloucester

Celebrating the Youth Investment Fund

Last week I hosted a amazing event in Parliament to celebrate the achievements of the Youth Investment Fund. Youth centres make a massive difference to young people’s lives and opportunities, and there just aren’t enough of them.

It was a brilliant evening and I particularly enjoyed hosting young people and members of the staff team from Blackbridge Community Benefit Society in Podsmead.

New NHS dentist in Gloucester!

A new NHS dentist and dental school is coming to the Gloucester city campus!
There will be six new treatment rooms, offering evening, weekend, urgent and routine dental care

There will be six new treatment rooms, offering evening, weekend, urgent and routine dental care.

The Three Counties Dental School will also launch Dental Hygiene programmes equipping students with the specialist skills required for careers in dentistry.

This is a huge investment in dental healthcare in our city- a big thank you to University of Gloucestershire for their innovative work and NHS Gloucestershire for prioritising investment in our city.

Out in the community

It was great to visit Headway Gloucestershire recently to learn more about the incredible work they do supporting people to live fulfilling lives after brain injury.

They provide support and rehabilitation services across the county, including to families and carers of people who have experienced a head injury.

It's such important work, and I was really impressed by the breadth and depth of the support on offer.
